Donald Leslie Vaughn, age 104, of Jackson, Ohio passed away at home surrounded by family into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on February 23, 2026. Donald was born on February 5, 1922 in Bloomfield Township, Jackson, Ohio to the late Emory and Jennie Vaughn.

He graduated from Bloomfield School in 1940 and was the oldest living Alumni. He married the love of his life, Anna Jane Radcliff on December 24, 1944, and celebrated 75 years of marriage on December 24, 2019. They moved to Columbus, Ohio where they raised their two daughters, Phyllis and Janet. He worked over 30 years at Boeing Aircraft Company where he helped build the Vigilante RA- 5C Aircraft. After retiring they returned to Jackson County to live. He was a member at the Four Mile Christian Church. He enjoyed reading the Bible, going fishing, bowling, farming and planting his 1-acre garden every year, and his beagle dogs. He loved to watch birds and always made sure they had something to eat. He loved his family most of all. He was a dedicated Christian, husband, dad, uncle and proud grandpa. He was also called “Poppy” by so many that loved him.

Donald was a faithful servant of God who loved attending church and greatly missed it in later years. He is missed dearly by his family, but he has left behind the example of love he taught and the desire that all his family will receive Jesus as Savior and someday be together at Heaven’s Gate.

Donald is survived by his loving daughter, Janet (Windell) Rose and son-in-law, Douglas Rose; grandchildren: Christopher (Cindy) Rose, Laura (Chris) Armstrong, Isaac Daniel (Corinne) Rose, Donald (Jenna) Rose, and Myra (Benjamin) Mathews; great-grandchildren: Erin Rose, Brynn Rose, Stephanie (Chris) Kiebler, Bethany Armstrong, Carmella (Kody) Weese, Jonah Armstrong, Isaac Gabriel Rose, Landon Rose, Emma Rose, Adeline Rose, Parker Rose, Matthew Rose, and Corban Mathews; great-great-grandson, Mateo Weese; several nieces and nephews; as well as special nieces: Irene Whiting and Jane Vaughn.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Phyllis Rose; sister, Marie Vaughn; and brothers: James W. Vaughn, Glenden Vaughn, and Clifford Vaughn.

Special thanks to Jenkins Care Community, National Church Services Hospice, and dear physician, Dr. Tonia Ash.
