Shannon Lee Beeson-Pluta, 48, of Terre Haute passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at her home surrounded by family after a long courageous battle with Lupus. She was born April 21, 1974 in Terre Haute to John J. Beeson and Rebecca S. Glaser Arnold. Shannon was a Terre Haute South graduate. She was a day care teacher for over 20 years. To her this was more than a job, it was pure happiness being with the children. Shannon was an avid reader and enjoyed crafting and card making. Christmas time was such a joyous occasion, having a houseful of family, and A Christmas Story playing on loop. Most of all Shannon loved being a wife, mom and a nana. Her children and her grandchildren were her greatest accomplishment and biggest joy.
Shannon is survived by her parents, husband of nearly 14 years, John Pluta, children Cameron Higgins (Darby), Alexis Dungan (Clay), Luke Higgins (Rachel Shroyer), grandchildren Connor Higgins and Brooks Higgins, brothers Evan Beeson and Kyle Beeson, and aunt Terrie Beeson, as well as her beloved dogs Candy and Sadie. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Jack Beeson and Patricia Beeson, and mother-in-law Joan Ward.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Memorial Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Jeff Lee officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lupus Foundation of America in honor of Shannon.
