Shannon Thomas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis-Becker Funeral Home - Struthers (AKA Davidson-Becker) on Oct. 1, 2025.
Youngstown – Shannon Sue Thomas, 58, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Born October 21, 1966, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Stahara and Shirliann (Norwood) Shank.
Shannon married the love of her life, Mark Thomas, and together they shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. Their greatest joy was their daughter, Kylie, who was the light of Shannon's life.
A 1985 graduate of South Range High School, Shannon went on to work at the New Music Station Bar near the YSU campus for over a decade. It became more than a job - it was where she built a vibrant social circle and made lifelong friends.
Shannon had a deep passion for music and art. She loved attending live concerts, expressing herself through her tattoos, and doting on the little ones in her family - especially her "baby cousins." She had a nurturing spirit and was a mother figure to many. Her warmth, humor, and welcoming presence made her incredibly easy to talk to, and she touched countless lives through her generosity and boundless heart.
Deeply involved in her daughter's life, Shannon volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, band committee member, and cheerleading coach. Her dedication to her family and community was unwavering.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Kylie Jade Thomas of Pittsburgh, PA; her sister, Kelly Minich of Crestline, OH; her stepfather, Greg Shank of Arkansas; her niece and nephews, Ellie (Dan) Burris, Bill Burris, RJ Thomas, and Hayes Minich; and her cherished four-legged companions, Coraline, Emo, Moony, and Nyx, along with her grandcat, Oliver.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m., at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, Ohio 44471.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family's GoFundMe page to help offset funeral expenses: GoFundMe – Shannon Stahara Thomas Funeral
