Sharmaine Cotham Obituary

Sharmaine Mitchell Cotham, 70, passed away on December 1, 2024 at her home in Louisburg, NC. Sharmaine was born on August 13, 1954 to the late Darwin F. and Rosaria Reina Mitchell. In addition to her parents, Sharmaine was preceded in death by her previous husband, Timothy Lester Sr. Sharmaine is survived by her husband, James Michael Cotham Sr. who shared her love of football. She will be deeply missed by her children, Hope Bruehl (Adam) and Timothy " T.J." Lester Jr. She also leaves behind her step-children, James Michael Cotham Jr. (Dana) and Lauren McQuinn (David); her grandchildren, Riley, Ella, Laney, Connor, and Ellizabeth; her god-sons, Brandon Dejarnette (Emily) and Josh Feeheley (Cheryl); and her sister, Holly Dejarnette (Mark). Sharmaine was a remarkable woman whose strength and independence inspired all who knew her. Her energy and devotion shone through her involvement in her children's lives, especially during their time with the Buccaneers Athletic Club and Northeast High School. An avid sports fan, Sharmaine never missed the chance to cheer on Clemson Football, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Baltimore Orioles. She enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers at home and loved the mountains. Above all, Sharmaine had a big heart and was always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear to anyone in need. In accordance with her wishes, services for Sharmaine will be private. Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for the Cotham family.
