Sharnita Yvette Shannon was born on February 15, 1960, to Bobbie Hatcher Shannon Dangerfield and John Shannon in Lebanon, Tennessee. She transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at ACH Cumberland Nursing Home.
Sharnita professed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She later united with Beech Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member, sang in the Mass Choir, and taught Sunday School for over 20 years under the pastorship of Rev. David Tucker, where she remained until her passing.
Sharnita attended Metropolitan Nashville Public School system where she graduated from North High School. She went on to further her education at Vanderbilt University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was so passionate about her work. She was employed for over 22 years at Vanderbilt Hospital and later moved to Select Specialty Hospital in Mid Town.
Sharnita was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. She was very creative through her art. She also enjoyed photography, sewing, and drawing. She is preceded in death by her father, John Shannon; grandmother, Mattie Murray; brother, Dezill Dangerfield; stepfather, Charles Dangerfield and devoted cousin, Carolyn Steverson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted and loving mother, Bobbie Dangerfield; sisters, Sheree Dangerfield, Tameki Steverson, Gina (Rhea) Hearn, Carlette (Patrick) Chadwick, Cherlette Shannon; brother, Lajohn (April) Shannon; devoted niece-daughter, Dezillre Dangerfield; niece, Jamaya Jones; devoted cousin, Mamie Steverson, Virginia (Chester) Brown of MD; and a host other family relatives and friends.
