Sharon Gafford Austin, age 73, of Indian Mound, TN, passed away on July 2, 2025, at Centennial Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Born on September 19, 1951, she was the beloved daughter of the late John and Edna White Gafford.
Sharon was a faithful servant of God and a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Dover, TN. A passionate educator, she dedicated over 40 years of her life to teaching, sharing with children of all ages the lifelong value of a good education. She had a deep love for reading and also found joy in handwork such as knitting and crafts, as well as tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
Above all, Sharon devoted her life to her family. She loved with all her heart, and all who knew her felt her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support every day.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Austin.
She leaves behind her precious children; Jim and wife, Dana Austin and Jennifer and husband Thomas Sasko; grandson, Justin Howard; siblings, Karen Ford (Stephen); Glenn Gafford (Janet), Janet Gafford (Mark), Wayne Gafford (Kristie), Diane Clark (George), and Michael Gafford (Shelia).
A visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Saturday, July 19, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am, followed with the memorial service at 1:00 pm. A private burial will be held Austin Cemetery
