Sharon Beavin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home - Louisville on Feb. 9, 2026.
Sharon Quinn Beavin, age 82, passed away February 8th, 2026. She was born on May 23rd, 1943, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of James and Helyn Quinn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Paul Beavin; her granddaughter, Cindy Malone; and her niece, Krissi Wilson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Don Beavin; her daughter, Anne Malone (Ted); her sister, Laura Whitworth (Steve); her sister-in-law Kathy Thompson (Ken); her granddaughter, Jennie Malone; nieces and nephews, Stacey Heverin (Dan), Karen Wegert (Ted), Katie Horlander (Stephen), Kelly Lee (Jeremy), Bill Straub (Jenna); many great-nieces and great-nephews; and her beloved wire-haired chihuahua, Mingo.

Sharon attended Assumption High School, graduating in 1962. During her sophomore year, she went on a blind date with Don Beavin. Those high school sweethearts went on to get married in 1965, which was the beginning of their 61 years together.

She was a wonderful stay-at-home mom to Anne and Paul; then she later she worked as a teacher's assistant at Churchill Park School and loved all those kids as if they were her own.

She and Don loved to travel. Their adventures took them everywhere from the state parks in Kentucky to just about any lake they could drag a boat to. They continued their journeys up through New England and Canada; they also ventured out West and overseas to Hawaii, Ireland, Scotland, England, and beyond. They made so many friends along the way.

Sharon loved her Lady Cardinals Basketball. She and Don had home game tickets for years with friends and then continued to cheer them on by TV and radio. She was an avid collector and loved antiques. She spent countless adventures heading off the beaten path, hunting through shops with Don, Anne, her mom and friends.

The family would like to thank the wonderful folks at Sycamore Heights Health & Rehabilitation for their attentive care and support over the past couple of months.

Sharon's visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 12th, with a service at 1:00 pm, all at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.

Memorial gifts in Sharon's memory may be made to the Westport Road Animal Care Society.
