Linda Greenwell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home - Bardstown on Jan. 30, 2026.
Linda Ann Greenwell, 77, of Louisville, passed away on January 29, 2026. Born April 3, 1948, Linda was small in stature but mighty in presence. Always "in charge," fiercely independent, and never afraid of anything, she was a tough lady with a big heart and an even bigger personality.

Known as "Little Z" growing up-a nickname earned from her height and maiden name, Zinsious-Linda was feisty and full of life. She was a proud graduate of Assumption High School and carried her love of volleyball throughout her life. Her happiest days were spent at Barren River Lake boating, cheering on the UK Wildcats, traveling to Florida, and sitting contentedly by the beach. Above all, Linda loved her family fiercely and lived her life with joy and strength.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jim Greenwell; their children, Carrey (Chris) and Joseph (Sarah); their grandchildren, Amber, Peyton, and Alex; and her sisters, Janet (Ronnie) and Wanda (Danny). She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary Zinsious.

Visitation will be held on February 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral service will take place at the same location on February 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
