Sharon Sue Camm, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away
peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by love and cherished memories. Sharon's
life was a tapestry of joy, resilience, and an unwavering ability to bring happiness to
those around her.
Born on September 13, 1954, Sharon grew up in
Aurora, Illinois, where she cultivated
her love for people and a zest for life. She thrived during her years at Hope Wall School,
creating lasting friendships and making a meaningful impact through her hard work and
dedication. Later, she found joy and purpose at the AID workshop, where she forged bonds
that would last a lifetime.
Sharon spent many fulfilling years involved with the Fox Valley Special Recreation
Association (FVSRA), particularly enjoying the STARs program. Whether crafting, going
on lunch outings, catching the latest movie, dancing with friends, or participating in her
beloved bowling league, Sharon lived her life with enthusiasm and an open heart. A true
adventurer, she loved to travel, proudly collecting coffee mugs and change purses from
her journeys-keepsakes that were as vibrant and unique as she was. Everywhere she
went, Sharon's bright smile was a beacon, and she delighted in running into familiar
faces who were always thrilled to see her.
An avid collector of porcelain dolls, Sharon took pride in her cherished collection and
eagerly shared it with anyone who visited. She also adored her Snapple facts and
sipping on an Arnold Palmer, simple joys that brought her endless delight. Country
music was the soundtrack of her life, and if you were lucky enough to ride in the car with
Sharon, you'd undoubtedly find yourself singing along to her favorite tunes.
Sharon was a devoted Chicago sports fan, cheering on the Bulls, Cubs, and Chicago
Sky with unmatched passion. But above all, she was a loyal and loving family member
and friend. Her warmth, her chatter, and her ever-present smile made her the heart of
any gathering.
Sharon is survived by her loving mother, Arline Camm; her sister, Sandy (John) Daukus;
her brother, Todd (Cathy) Camm; and her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces,
and great-nephews, all of whom she was deeply proud of. She will also be remembered
fondly by her special uncles and aunts, who held a treasured place in her heart.
Sharon was preceded in death by her stepfather, Wallace Camm; her grandparents; many
beloved aunts and uncles; and her biological father, Wayne Staffeldt.
To know Sharon was to know joy, kindness, and a spirit that could brighten even the
cloudiest day. She taught us all the value of finding happiness in the little things and
sharing that happiness with others. Her memory will live on in the laughter of her family,
the smiles of her friends, and the countless lives she touched along the way.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 9:30 AM from THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY to Annunciation Church at 10:00 AM; Fr. Patrick Gillmeyer O.S.B. will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street,
Aurora, IL 60506. 630-631-5500.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Fox Valley Special Recreation Association (FVSRA) or Association for Individual Development (AID), organizations that brought Sharon so much joy and connection throughout her life.
