Sharon Lynn Waltman Chisolm, 67, passed away on December 12, 2025. Born to Allie & James Waltman in
Mobile, AL. She moved to Perry, Ga, during her youth when her father was transferred to Warner Robins Air Force Base after Brookley Air Force Base closed. She moved back to Mobile in the 8th grade and graduated from Murphy High School in 1976. Her favorite subject was band, and she spent the rest of her life loving music.
Upon graduation from high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Davis Clarke Chisolm ("Chiz"). They were married for 37 years before Chiz died in 2013. She spent her life devoted to her family. Wherever they lived, she made her house a "home".
Chiz's job took them to Oklahoma for a year in her early married life, but she was most happy when the decision was made to move back to Mobile. Later, they were transferred to Gulfport, Mississippi, Prattville, Alabama, and finally to
Ocala, Florida, where they spent the last 25 years. She loved crafting and do-it-yourself projects around the house.
Her love of travel took her many places. She traveled out west several times and took several cruises. She loved to plan trips, spending hours mapping out the route, stops, and attractions. However, she would jump in the car any time to go anywhere.
Her love of music took her to many concerts through the years. She was quick to tell you she had sung "Hey Jude" with Paul McCartney, "Hotel California" with the Eagles, and "Sweet Home Alabama" with Lynard Skynard.
Sharon worked at several banks/credit unions throughout her career, retiring from Mid Florida Bank, formerly Community Bank & amp: Trust of Florida, in 2022. She had many fond memories of her banking career. She took great pride in her work and felt like her coworkers and customers were her family. In her 3 years after retirement, she travelled every chance she got. She took cruises, flew to Colorado, drove around Alaska, and made multiple trips to Alabama to cheer on the Crimson Tide and attend Mardi Gras parades.
She lived in other places, but she loved her home, Sweet Home Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband, Davis Clarke "Chiz" Chisolm; her parents, Allie & James Waltman; two brothers: David Akridge & Danny Dure. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Chisolm; one son, Michael James Chisolm (Brooke); and one grandson, Landon Barrentine; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She placed her faith in Jesus Christ as a teenager. Her faith carried her through many tough times in life. Her patriotism was deep-rooted in her soul, with her father and two uncles having served in WWII. She loved to hear their stories and researched the history to back them up.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Heirs-Baxley Funeral Home, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd,
Ocala, FL. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Allentown Cemetery.
