Born in Butte, Montana, Sharon often reminisced about the places she lived, family, friends, church, ice skating, and parades she experienced there. She was the first in her family to attend college at the Montana School of Mines in Butte and completed her Bachelor's in English Literature at San Jose State College in California. Oak Ridge, Tennessee was where she spent the majority of her life, and it was where she felt most at home. Over the course of her life, she worked as a florist, media center coordinator for a school district, a Welcome Wagon hostess, church cook, office support roles at a medical office and medical insurance firm, and retired recently from her data support role at the Mt. Juliet Senior Center. It was her work at Keystone Adult Day Program where she found her true calling. Sharon was always active in community organizations and clubs; playing cards with friends; and an active member of the United Methodist Church since her teenage years, most recently at Grace United Methodist Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. She was a gourmet cook, and loved to bake and share bread and cookies with friends during holidays. An avid reader, she delighted in matching books to people's interests, and was serving as the Librarian at Rutland Place for Senior Living. She loved music, crafting, and learning about other cultures and welcoming newcomers to her communities. She took up china painting later in life, and her work was beautiful. Her daughters, Laura and Rebecca, cherish how she nurtured their creativity, supported new passions, and modeled a tireless work ethic. She never missed a recital, performance, or graduation-and she always had a song lyric ready to capture any moment. She adored her grandchildren, Kathryn and Gage, and was very proud of them. Grandma's house was a place filled with memories of reading cherished children's books, Saturday pancakes, and it was okay to make a mess exploring their artistry with glitter, crafts, painting, or legos. Sharon passed on August 3rd after a long and fierce fight with cancer. Her passing happened where she wanted to be and surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She is now free from pain and at peace. Sharon is preceded in death by her mother and daddy, Charlotte Goneau and Harry Breen; And older siblings, Charles (Bud) Breen, Laurence (Larry) Breen, and Barbara McAuley. She is survived by her children, Laura (Kelly) Coghlan and Rebecca (David) Blencoe; grandchildren, Kathryn Farris and Gage Farris; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends whose lives she touched.
