Sharon Fay Dombrowski was born in
Harlan, Kentucky, the cherished daughter of the late A.D. and Opal Jackson. She grew up in Detroit, where her deep Southern roots blended seamlessly with a life built on grit, independence, and unwavering devotion to family.
Sharon passed away suddenly on January 25, 2026. While her loving heart has stopped beating, her spirit-unyielding, generous, and full of determination-will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She possessed an iron will and a fiercely independent nature, yet her greatest strength was the unconditional love she gave to those she held dear. Sharon never gave up-on life, on love, or on family. Like the Energizer Bunny, she just kept going.
A true Southern lady, Sharon was known for her kindness, generosity, and warmth. She loved caring for others, whether through heartfelt conversations or by sharing her culinary delights. Her banana pudding was legendary, and she had a special fondness for Mexican food, with tacos always at the top of her list.
Sharon's love for her family knew no bounds. She would have done anything for her loved ones, and her devotion, support, and unwavering presence were gifts that will be remembered forever. She also shared a special bond with her beloved Yorkie, Tasha, who was endlessly adored and spoiled, bringing Sharon comfort and joy each day.
Sharon experienced profound love in her life. She was married to her first husband, Edward, who passed away at a young age in 2003. Later, she was blessed to share a second great love with Lee Holland, who preceded her in death in 2018. Their love brought her happiness, companionship, and peace.
In her later years, Sharon faced the challenges of dementia with bravery and dignity. Even as memories faded, the essence of who she was-her warmth, her strength, and her loving heart-remained. Surrounded by love, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, free from struggle, and reunited with those she loved so deeply.
Sharon is survived by her loving children, Shelley (Mark) Denny, Edward (Cindy) Dombrowski, and Kristin Dombrowski; her adored grandchildren, Dakota Allen, Anthony Berardo, Alexander Denny, Tony Denny, Danielle Denny, Stephanie Dewar, Jacob Dewar, Ashley Promenchenkel and Edward C. Dombrowski; her dear siblings, Bobbie and Kim; and her 17 cherished great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her loving son-in-law, Mark Denny; and her beloved siblings, Ernie, Lowell, Billy, Freddy, Larry, and Sandy.
Please keep Sharon and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
