March 4, 1942-August 10, 2024
Sharon Lynn Emerson passed away peacefully on August 10 after a brief illness and Alzheimer's disease. She was truly loved by everyone around her especially her family whom she loved so dearly and made her first priority. She also loved and was loved by her new friends this past year in her second home (senior living).
Born to Earl and Marguerite Calhoun. Sharon was born in Canada then moved to Azusa, CA where she met her husband Charles (Denny). They got married in Las Vegas in 1960 with their parents in attendance. Living in Pasadena they started their family of five children. As their family grew they moved to Lakewood and then the rest of their lives in Cerritos.
Sharon's primary love and joy was raising her five children Darcy, Renee, Michelle, Jeff and Greg with her husband, and hauling them all to their activities.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 64 years Denny, daughter Darcy, son Jeff, and in-laws-John, Steve, Tom and Angie. She is also survived by her grandchildren Adam, Drew (Ashleigh), Makena (Nick), Jason (Megan), Nichole, Kelly (Zach), Courtney (Hudson), and Tommy. Also her great-grandchildren Reagan, Waylon, Dottie, Quinn, Lincoln.
Sharon is preceded in death by brother John Calhoun, daughter Renee Schwartz, daughter Michelle Hodges and grandson Beau Hartley.
Sharon will always be remembered as a loving, kind, gentle and giving wife, mother and grandmother.
There will be a celebration of life for Sharon in the near future.
