Sharon Marie Ernst passed away on September 5, 2025, at the age of 79 in Pickerington, OH.
Born on August 28, 1946, to the late John and Rosemary Danaher in Chicago, Illinois. Sharon leaves behind a legacy of love, spunk, and laughter. Raised in Ottawa, Illinois, Sharon was the second eldest of 10 children. After graduating from Oak Park Hospital School of Nursing in 1967, Sharon's career as a registered nurse was characterized by her compassion and kindness woven into the lives of those she touched. Her greatest gift to all she met was her heart, with her nurturing spirit embracing all walks of life with open arms. Throughout the trials and tribulations life threw her way, she embodied the essence of strength and courage, battling with Alzheimer's for 8 years.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Bob Ernst; son, Mark Ernst; daughter-in-law, Adriana Ernst; daughter, Lisa Gotelaere; son-in-law, Jay Gotelaere; and her five grandchildren, Cesar Ernst, Xitlali Ernst, Atzi Ernst, Hannah Gotelaere, and Grace Gotelaere.
We will celebrate Sharon's life with a visitation on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio. The funeral service will be held the following morning on Friday, September 19, 2025, starting at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 600 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Suncrest Hospice. Contributions may be made via their mailing address, 7965 N. High Street, Suite 100, Columbus, OH 43235.
