Obituary
Sharon A. Farst, age 81 of Marion, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky.
On January 12, 1942, she was born to Henry and Francis (Seiter) Mahaffey in Marion, Ohio. On November 22, 1962, she married Richard Farst in Marion, Ohio.
Sharon worked as a volunteer at different hospitals in Ohio and Alabama. While she lived in the Alabama, she became the State President of Hospital Volunteers. She was always involved in the different churches she attended. For many years, she was a part of the Pleasant CCL. Since her husband graduated from OSU and was an avid OSU fan, she became an avid OSU fam as well. Sharon loved to garden, and her favorite flower was red roses. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Mahaffey; her husband, Richard Farst and her two brothers: Larry Mahaffey and Ronnie Mahaffey.
Those who will cherish her memories include her mother, Francis (Seiter) Mahaffey of Marion, Ohio; her children: Doug (Candace) Farst of Georgetown, Ohio and Debi (Jim) Goodin of Marion, Ohio; her brother, Rick (Karen) Mahaffey of Marion, Ohio; her seven grandchildren: Jacqueline Nolting, Rob (Tracey) Farst, Nicholas Goodin, Elizabeth (Andy) Strine, Holly (John) Siebenaler, Taylor Goodin and Maria Farst; and her nine great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may come to honor Sharon's life from 11am to 1pm at the Boyd Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following at 1pm. A burial will follow at Marion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Sharon's memory to: Hospice of Hope Care Center, 1435 Kenton Point Way, Maysville, Kentucky 41056. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Farst family.
