Sharon K Hanley passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the age of 72 after years of battling cancer. Born in Wichita, Kansas on May 26, 1952, daughter to Myron Laflin and Myrtle "Irene" Willard. She graduated from high school in Norco, California in 1970. Sharon worked in finance and finished her working career as a Finance Manager at American General.
She married Jeffrey Wolfe on February 8, 1971, in Norco, Ca. and welcomed her son Brian in 1974 and daughter Michelle in 1976.
She married William "Bill" Hanley on June 1, 1991, in Newton, Ks. and gained two bonus daughters Tawnya and Trista.
Sharon is survived by her husband William "Bill" Hanley, her children Brian (Gayle) Wolfe, Michelle Stockham (Fiance', Chris), Tawnya (Billy) Frary, Trista (Dan) Matthew and her two sisters Ruby Summus and Diane Burroughs. Sharon had eight grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Irene Laflin; Paternal Grandparents Ralph Laflin and Lenora Nickel, Maternal Grandparents Harlow and Retha Willard.
Sharon was devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed NASCAR, Billiards, The Young and the Restless, and the beach. She helped to run the local pool league with her husband Bill. Numerous people said she was hard to beat at pool. She enjoyed vacationing at the beach in Florida and collecting seashells. Sharon enjoyed racing of any kind. She and her parents went to the local racetracks. Later in life, she enjoyed going to NASCAR races with her family and friends.
She will be missed by all.
A visitation service is scheduled for 5pm - 9pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, Ks. Flowers, and condolences may be offered at 215 N. Main St. Newton, Ks.
