Sharon HATCH Obituary

Sharon Kay Hatch passed away peacefully on May 1, 2024, at age 81 at Hospice of North Idaho, from a neoplasm of the brain. Sharon was born on June 21, 1942, in West Slope, Oregon, to Millard and Eugenia Peake. She had four siblings, Wes, Robert, Carole, and Richard.

Sharon graduated from Beaverton High School in 1960. While in high school, she met her life-long sweetheart, Lynn, whom she married in August of 1961. They had three beautiful children, Lynn Allen Jr., Kari Ann, and Gregory Scott.

Aside from raising her family and working as a dental assistant until Lynn Jr. was born, Sharon enjoyed bowling at the Beaverton Elks Lodge, which is how she became the best of friends with Sally Sperling. Together they would venture their families down to Roseburg for countless camping trips.

Sharon also worked for Lynn's landscaping company as the bookkeeper until 2006, after almost 40 years in business.

Sharon was also an amazing cook and always made enough food to feed a crowd. Crispy twice-baked potatoes, troughs of baked macaroni and cheese, and steaming oyster stew were staples many enjoyed for years.

Sharon was a resilient, kind, and generous woman, mother, grandmother, and friend, and her hospitality will be greatly cherished. During her and Lynn's 50th anniversary party in 2011, her oldest granddaughter, Kaylee, asked her what their secret was; to which she responded, "Love, trust, and communication."

She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Lynn, who passed away in 2014 after a battle with cancer. As well as her brothers, Wes and Robert, sister, Carole, and their parents.

She is survived by her brother, Richard "Dick" Peake (Sue); her three wonderful children, Lynn Jr. (Frieda) Hatch, Kari (Steve) McKenzie, and Gregory Hatch; her grandchildren, Marcus Luoto, Kaylee Hatch, and Kristi McKenzie. Along with many nieces and nephews, life-long friend Sally, and her dog, Biscuit.

There will be memorial services at Evergreen Cemetary and English Funeral Chapel, in Post Falls, at 1:30pm, on June 14, 2024. More information will be announced later for a service in Portland.
