Delores Frances Barker, 96, of Spokane Valley, passed away peacefully at Valley Hospital on January 27, 2026.
Born in Spokane, she was the daughter of John and Ida Dietrich. She was the 7th of 8 children. She grew up in Modovi Washington and graduated from Davenport High School. She married Donald Barker on July 17th, 1954.
She was a stay-at-home mom for much of her life. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending family functions, playing cards, bingo, and bowling up until Covid shut everything down.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Ann (Dick) Collins; two sons, David (Sonja) and Daryl (Sandy); and her daughter, Susan (David) Thompson. She had seven granddaughters, two step-grandsons, and 14 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Barker; and all seven siblings and their spouses.
The funeral service will be held on February 10th, at 10:30, at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, with interment at the Riverside Cemetery, at 12pm. The viewing will begin at 9:30 to the time of the service.

Hello, I was so sorry to hear of Delores“ passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Delores was a wonderful woman, and even in the little time I had with her, she always made a lasting impression, warm, genuine, and a joy to talk with. I know she meant the world to her family, and I hope you can feel surrounded by love and support as you remember her life. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.
