Sharon Hudson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Money and King Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Mar. 30, 2026.
We remember with love and gratitude the life of Sharon Shelley Hudson, who was born on July 19, 1941. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, educator, and lifelong learner whose presence touched the lives of many.

On August 2, 1969, she married the love of her life, Brian Hudson. Together they shared 42 years of marriage, building a home filled with love, faith, and commitment until Brian's passing on March 31, 2012.

Sharon dedicated much of her life to education. As a school teacher, she spent 27 years nurturing young minds in the 2nd and 3rd grades. Even after retiring, her passion for teaching never faded-she continued for another 15 years as a substitute teacher, giving special attention and care to students in special education. Her patience, wisdom, and compassion left a lasting impact on countless children and families.

Outside the classroom, Sharon had a deep love for history and reading. She was an avid reader, especially of historical books, and was known for her remarkable memory-often described as a "walking encyclopedia." She possessed a sharp intellect and a curiosity that never waned.

Sharon also found joy in collecting antiques. She loved visiting thrift stores and had a special gift for discovering treasures-particularly dollhouses, pottery, and jewelry. Her keen eye and appreciation for beauty and craftsmanship brought her much happiness.

Above all, Sharon's greatest legacy was her love for her family. One of the most profound expressions of that love was the decision she and her husband made to adopt their child from South Korea when he was 9 years old. This act of compassion and generosity changed a life forever and stands as a testament to the depth of her heart. She was a devoted and loving mother, and her child remains forever grateful and blessed to have been given such extraordinary parents.

Sharon is survived by her sister, Carol; son, Lee; her daughter-in-law, Jelyn; and her beloved grandchildren, Brian and Lia, who carry forward her love, wisdom, and memory.

Fourteen years ago, Sharon was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, a condition that had affected several members of her family. She spent her later years at The Gardens at Fair Oaks, where she was cared for with dignity and compassion.

Though Alzheimer's may have taken much, it never diminished the love she gave or the legacy she leaves behind. Sharon will be remembered for her intelligence, her kindness, her dedication to others, and the deep and abiding love she had for her family.

May she rest in peace.
