Sharon Inghram Obituary

Sharon Ann Inghram, 81, of Upper St. Clair, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Pittsburgh, surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born February 17, 1944, in Waynesburg, to the late Nancy Barnes Inghram and James Inghram. She was raised in Greene County with her three sisters: Janet Inghram Lowe; Jeannie Inghram Buckley; and Nancy Jane Inghram, her youngest sister, who preceded her in death. A member of the graduating class of Waynesburg High School, 1962, Sharon raised a family in the suburbs of Pittsburgh while continuing her education, ultimately earning her bachelor's degree from W&J College and her master's degree from West Virginia University. After completing her education, she spent a year in Ireland serving with Catholic Charities in communities from Dublin to Galway, while delighting in the poetry, theater, and kindness of the Irish people. Next came a career as a talented Licensed Clinical Social Worker, practicing in Allegheny and Greene counties within community settings, where helping professions hold the most potential for the most people. Sharon was a loving mother to her three children: Jamie Lynn Meighen-Sei (Alain Sei) of Los Angeles, Calif.; Patrick James Meighen of Pittsburgh; Christine Erin Meighen of Seattle, Wash. She was also a devoted Grammy to her three granddaughters, Mary-Claire Meighen Sei, Yvette Jane Sei, and Audrey Lynn Sei. Sharon was a gifted seamstress who loved to travel. She also held deep respect and love for the natural world. A voracious consumer of culture through literature, theater, film, history, food, and the arts, Sharon will be most remembered for her tender ability to meet people and nature as they were, always offering something of herself to imprint and improve any situation, along with her canon of delicious recipes that were passed to family and friends through generations of table gatherings. Sharon was a private and fiercely independent woman who thrived on one-on-one relationships. In lieu of flowers, the family invites everyone who knew and loved her to honor her memory in that spirit by taking any gesture they know would be meaningful to her. Suggestions donations include: Meals on Wheels of SWPA, The Audubon Society, and Catholic Charities. A private burial will follow in the spring.

As I read this amazing description of Sharon´s life, many thoughts and memories associated with her immediately pop into head:

-Our trip to DC for Jon Stewart´s" Rally for Sanity", - eating her crab quiche on the way, then going to Old Ebbitt Inn afterwards, and seeing Stephen Colbert there. We agreed it was one of our most fun times.
-Seeing Bruce Springsteen at the Civic Arena
-I will always remember her great hair!
-She loved her Subaru, the Outer Banks, the New Yorker magazine, good movies & books. Such a smart gal.

I will miss calling her and saying "Whatcha doin´?"
I wish I had told her once that I am glad she was my friend.
Rest in peace, dear Sharon.
To Jamie, Pat, and Chrissy - wishing strength and peace for you.

I worked with Sharon; she was a brilliant therapist and fierce advocate for those she served. She was a wonderful mentor and I'll always remember her infectious and joyful laugh.

May she rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing.

I admired her enthusiasm and commitment to her grandchildren´s endeavors. Her nimble fingers helped complete all manner of projects, large and small. Mostly, I will remember her ready smile, twinkling eyes and open heart.
