Sharon Ruth Jeffers

Sharon Ruth Jeffers, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 86. Born on June 29, 1939, in Alhambra, California, Sharon lived a life full of love, curiosity, and creativity.

Sharon was the cherished daughter of the late Leland Alton Bryant and Marguerite Ruth Lamb Bryant. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Gordon Winsby Jeffers, with whom she shared many wonderful years.

Sharon pursued higher education with fervor, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration followed by a Master's Degree in Public Administration. Professionally, Sharon dedicated much of her career to the field of human resources, serving as the Human Resources Director at the NASA Stennis Space Center until her retirement. Her leadership and compassion left a lasting impact on those she worked with.

In her personal life, Sharon found joy and fulfillment in a variety of interests. She was an avid birdwatcher, spending countless hours observing and appreciating the beauty of nature. Her hands were rarely still, as she was an accomplished quilter and painter, creating works that reflected her vibrant spirit and artistic talent. Sharon also had a deep passion for genealogy, investing time in uncovering and preserving her family's history for future generations.

Sharon is survived by her loving daughter, Susan Jeffers Wright, and her husband Craig of Hartfield, Virginia; her devoted son, Gordon Scott Jeffers of Land O Lakes, Florida; and her treasured grandson, Douglas Wright of Raleigh, North Carolina. Her family and friends will remember her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.

Though no services are planned at this time, Sharon's family invites those who knew her to cherish her memory in their own way, celebrating the remarkable woman she was and the profound impact she had on their lives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the National Audubon Society, or the Salvation Army, honoring Sharon's passions and the causes close to her heart.

Sharon Ruth Jeffers will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
