Sharon Komninos-Carpenter

Sharon Komninos-Carpenter, 72, of Euclid, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, at her home.

Born May 5, 1953, in Somerville, N.Y., Sharon lived in Allentown P.A. before moving to Euclid 43 years ago.

Sharon graduated from Notre Dame High School in Batavia, N.Y. and SUNY Fredonia, where she majored in music. She sang with the North Buffalo Philharmonic and the Pittsburgh Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.

As her children got older, Sharon went on to receive both her Bachelor and Masters degrees in nursing. She worked as a nurse in the E.R., Urgent Care, Hospice and Orthopedics before retiring to take care of her husband, Bob.

Sharon was the loving mother of Christian (Kristen) Bonk and Aaron Bonk; dear step-mother of Bobby Carpenter; cherished "Yia-Yia" to Angelina Bonk, Abigal Bonk, Jackson Bonk; adored step-grandmother of Sarah Lozada and Regan Carpenter; step-daughter of Nhu Lu Komninos; step-sister of Alvan Lu; cousin, aunt, niece and friend to many; and cherished best friend of Marianna. She is also survived by her beloved baby rat sister, Susan Nicoletti.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Carpenter; parents, Tracy and Carmella (nee Rossi) Komninos; and sisters, Esther (Dusty) Hoopingarner and Traciene Robideaux.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at The Abbey of Willoughby (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life Service starting at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sharon's name may be made to the Euclid Animal Shelter, 25100 Lakeland Blvd., Euclid, OH 44132.
