She was born November 22,1949 in Manhattan,NY. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Veronica McKay.
Sharon grew up in Midland Beach, Staten Island, NY. She was the first graduating class of St. Joseph by the Sea High School and then worked at Siemens Bank. After being a dedicated mother to her three children, Sharon began her 20 year career at Amalgamated Life. She spent her retirement in Sebastian, Florida. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sharon loved life to the fullest and was a proud member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (Division 2, Staten Island,NY). She was a parishioner of St. Sebastian Catholic Church , where she enjoyed her faith spending Saturday nights at Mass followed by dinner with her brother and friends.
She is survived by her brother, Kevin McKay; son, James and Amy Matthies; daughter, Michele and Kevin Murray; son , Craig and Gina Matthies; grandchildren, Victoria, James, Alexis, Taylor, Christopher and Daniel.
A private service will be held on Friday, August 15th at Strunk Funeral Home.
