Sharon Kaye Morgan

Mrs. Sharon Kaye Morgan, age 68, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her residence.

Mrs. Morgan was born in Rome, Georgia on January 21, 1957, daughter of the late Clarence McBurnett and the late Carolyn Ann Smith McBurnett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Maurice "Reggie" Morgan, by her twin sister, Karen Faye McBurnett, and by a brother-in-law, James Hillis. Mrs. Morgan was a graduate of Coosa High School. She worked for several years as a cake decorator for Piggly Wiggly and then was the manager of the Family Dollar Stores in North Rome and Lindale until her retirement. After retirement, she worked as a cashier for Piggly Wiggly & Kroger. Mrs. Morgan enjoyed flower gardening as well as anything to do with arts and crafts (cross stitch, painting, cake decorating, etc.).

Survivors include two sons, Mark Morgan (Heather) and Shane Morgan (Kaye); four grandsons, Nathan Morgan (Jessie), Blake Morgan (Natassia), Kyler Morgan, and Brody Morgan; three great grandchildren, Hollis Morgan, Sawyer Morgan, and Eleanor Morgan; three siblings, Christine Hillis, Randy McBurnett (Linda), and Sandy Tuck (Mickey); several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with her son Shane Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 12 until 1:45pm.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday at 1:30pm and include Nathan Morgan, Blake Morgan, Kyler Morgan, Brody Morgan, Travis Tuck, and James Womack.
