Obituary
Sharon Nugent of Pocola, Oklahoma passed away July 2nd, 2023, at the age of 78 years. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, 2nd mom and great friend to many. She was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on March 1, 1945 to the late Lucille (Davis) Miller. Sharon married Wayne Nugent on December 26,1964 in Wilburton. She graduated from Butner H.S and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business and later became a Mortgage Loan Underwriter. Sharon also wore many other hats in her life such as being part owner/operator of a newspaper, owning her own restaurant, legal secretary and city clerk. She was a member of the Cavanaugh United Methodist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband Wayne Nugent, with whom she spent 59 and 1/2 years of marriage. She is also survived by her children; Robert Nugent and wife Stephanie of Fort Smith, Janet Allen and husband Mike Goetz of McCleary, Washington. She is survived by two grandchildren, Dusti and Seth; one sister-Toni Hall of Wilburton, Oklahoma, her aunt Fern McCabe and a host of other family and friends. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents-Ellis and Lucille Miller; her brother Ron Miller; and cousin Paula McCabe. A Memorial Service will be on Friday July 7th, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Cavanaugh United Methodist Church, 7205 Highway 271 South, Fort Smith, Arkansas. Service is under the direction of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services, 1805 North A Street, Fort Smith, Arkansas.
