It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon M. Profrock, 63, of Lapel, Indiana, who left us on February 6, 2026, in the comfort of her home. Born on August 22, 1962, in New Jersey to John and Anne (Traynor) Penrose, Sharon was a true light in the lives of everyone who knew her.
As a dedicated bank teller at First Merchants Bank, she brought joy and laughter to her workplace, but her humor truly shone through as an infamous prankster. April Fools' Day became her yearly playground, where her elaborate pranks left her family and friends in stitches. Beyond her playful spirit, Sharon cherished her role as a doting grandmother, cheering on her grandkids as they played sports and embraced life.
Anyone who visited Sharon's home knew they would receive more than just a warm hug; you were guaranteed a full plate too. Her generosity and caring nature made her friends feel like family, and she poured love into every relationship in her life.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Anne (Jack) Helmick; fiancé, Scott Baumann; her children, Sean Hollingsworth and Jon (Michelle) Hollingsworth; daughter-in-law, Beth (Rob) Hollingsworth-Peugh; step-child, Amanda (Ben Newman) Baumann; siblings, John (Kim) Redyke and Cindy (Corey) Harvey; grandchildren, James Hollingsworth, Nick Hollingsworth, Jameson Hollingsworth, Bailey Hollingsworth, and Peyton Hollingsworth; aunt, Bonnie Klinger; aunt Mickey and uncle Bill and several nieces and nephews. She is lovingly remembered by all who were touched by her spirit.
She rejoined her loved ones who have passed, including her father, John Penrose, her step-dad, Hank Redyke, her husband, Paul Profrock, and her son, James Hollingsworth.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana, 46051.
