Nancy Louise Slye, 84, of Danville, IN, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, March 7, 2026. She was born on July 17, 1941, to Herbert & Mary Reinhardt of Indianapolis, Indiana.
A member of the Warren Central High School Class of 1957, Nancy went on the graduate from the first school of Nursing Class at Indiana Central College in 1961. She then worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove for over 12 years.
In 1961, Nancy married Richard L. Shepler, and they had 3 children Lauralee Bates (Stephen Bates), Richard G. Shepler, and Nicolas P. Shepler (Angela Shepler). Then, in 2002, Nancy married Rex Slye, and they lived very happily in Lapel, IN. Nancy adored spending time with her grandchildren Grace Dziennik, Zachariah Dziennik, William Shepler, Anthony Shepler, & Melissa Ritchie. Nancy is survived by her beloved brother, Richard Reinhardt (Rudy Gillespie).
Nancy was a proud member of the Danville United Methodist Church, & Hendricks County Master Gardener Association. She loved to host dinners in her home & spend time with her family and close friends. She was our Angel on earth and is now an eternal Angel in our hearts & souls and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be at 10:00am, with funeral services at 11:00am on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Home, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. Burial will immediately follow in the Washington Park East Cemetery.
