Olive Thea Horsager Slye, 91, of Emily, Minnesota, died on November 17, 2025 at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby, Minnesota. She was born in Edgeley, North Dakota.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. James W. Slye, and children Terry Slye (Leah), Bradley Slye (Sharon Kay), Sharon Beaman (James) and Laurie Chandler (Roy), 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as a brother, Clarence Horsager (Mary), and sister-in-law, Linda Horsager. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Esther Horsager and her brother, Leslie.
Olive met Jim at Vennard College and after graduation, they pastored together in four Wesleyan churches in Iowa and Minnesota, with much of that time being spent at the Emily Wesleyan Church. In Olive's words, "I thoroughly enjoyed being a pastor's wife. It was a joy to serve the Lord together."
A Celebration of Olive's life will be held on July 10, 2026 at Heartwood Conference Center. More information will be given at a later date.
