Anthony T. Christofolis, age 97, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 9, 2026. He was born December 18, 1928, in Kalymnos, Greece and was a long-time resident of Gary and Crown Point, Indiana.
Tony graduated from Froebel High School, Class of 1948. He was an army veteran of the Korean War. He retired as foreman from U.S. Steel, Gary Works.
He will be remembered as a wonderful father and papu. He was known for his ability to fix anything and for his energy to help all his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ann, brother William Christofolis, father Theodore Christofolis, mother Katina Papadelis, and stepfather George Papadelis.
Survived by children Carol Ann (John) O’Brien, Rebecca Christofolis, Ted Christofolis, and Mary (Barry) Schneiderman; grandchildren Bruce (Emily) Mitchell, Kathryn (Dave) Mahoney, Kelsey Hopkins, Anna (Nick) Palmer, Ben Schneiderman, and Noah Schneiderman; sister Irene Kaporis of Chicago; his loyal cat Luna, and many nieces and nephews. Tony will be sadly missed and always loved.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to Flanner Buchanan Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be held in June 2026, at a date to be announced.
