Sharon A. Riggs

Sharon Ann Riggs, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on October 12, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, Sharon's warmth and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many throughout her time on Earth.

A proud graduate of Colonel White High School, Class of 1968, Sharon embraced her role as a stay-at-home mom with great dedication. After devoting herself to raising her family, she transitioned into a career, retiring from the Esther Price Candy Company. Her legacy is marked not only by her professional accomplishments but also by the profound love she showed to her family and all the children in her neighborhood, affectionately known as "grandma" to many.

Sharon was known for her funny and loving personality, always bringing joy and laughter to those around her. She cherished every moment spent with her family, never missing a family event or activity. Her hobbies included baking, crocheting, cooking, and fishing, which she often enjoyed alongside her loved ones, creating lasting memories that her family will treasure forever.

Sharon's proudest accomplishment was the deep love she had for her sons, Donnie Riggs and Jerry (Melissa) Riggs, her grandchildren Ashley (Edwin) Nyberg, Brittaney Riggs, Christy (Randy) Maxwell, Samantha (Matt) Whitehead, and Joseph Eigel, as well as her ten great-grandchildren. She leaves behind not just a family but a legacy of love that will endure through them.

Sharon was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frederick Riggs Jr., just hours prior to her passing. She is also survived by her father, James Kruetzman; mother, Annabelle Weber; stepfather, Donald K. Weber; and siblings, brothers Paul and Jimmy Kruetzman.

Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on her family and community.

A visitation for Sharon and her husband, Frederick will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by burial at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W Third Street.
