Sharon R. Samuelson, age 87, a resident of Lake Tomahawk, WI, passed away February 19, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 22, 1938, in Boscobel, WI, to parents Arnold and Rebecca Baumgartner.
She graduated from Methodist Hospital for Nursing. She married LeRoy O. Samuelson August 20, 1960. She was involved with Sons of Norway. Sharon loved reading, baking, and traveling. Orange Beach, AL was one of her favorite places each winter, sharing it with her whole family. She embodied the best qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in the care she took of her family and friends. After retiring from Waukesha Memorial Hospital in 1993, after 20 years, Sharon and Lee bought and operated the Korner Drive-In in Lake Tomahawk. Soon after they built a second location called Burger-N-Shake, on Hwy 51 in Minocqua, now known as Briq’s. They operated both locations with the help of their children, grandchildren, and local teens. She loved the summer only employment that lasted from opening day of fishing through Labor Day weekend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Fredric D. Baumgartner; son: John F. Samuelson; great granddaughter: Laney M. Pape. Sharon is survived by her loving husband: LeRoy O. Samuelson; children: Carol (Terry) Pape, Jeffrey Samuelson, Sara (Rick) Poplawski; grandchildren: Johnathan (Michelle) Pape, Justin (Briel) Pape, Amanda (Matthew) Tojek, Kacy (Jeffery Jones) Poplawski, Taylor Poplawski, Michael (Cassie) Oppermann, Stephannie (Steve Markowski) Oppermann, Kathryn (Austin) Gottman, Jeffrey Samuelson, Jr.; great grandchildren: Jace Tojek, Shayna Tojek, Silvia Pape, Lilah Pape, Paityn Pape, Karson Pape, Landon Oppermann, Christina Oppermann, Eleanor Gottman, Charles Gottman, Calvin Markowski; brother: John (Carole) Baumgartner; sister-in-law: Sandra Baumgartner; nephews: Dean Baumgartner, Todd (Inessa) Baumgartner; many other family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Minocqua, WI. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm at the church.
