Sharon Sawicki Obituary

Sharon L. Sawicki, age 81 of Oshkosh, passed away on September 21, 2025, at Bethel Home.

Sharon was born in Green Bay, WI, on March 25, 1944, the daughter of the late Keith and Catherine (Clemons) Parkinson. Sharon proudly shared with everyone she met that she was born and raised in Green Bay, and she was a fiercely zealous Green Bay Packers fan, believing "God Must Be A Packer Fan", as well. Sharon's vocation and passion was supporting her students, retiring from her final career role as a teacher assistant for the Oshkosh Area School District following decades of dedication.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, backyard bird- and squirrel-watching, crossword puzzles, winning at canasta, nonfiction books, visits with friends, shopping outings, Elvis Presley, taking photographs at family get-togethers, and the Holy Bible were just a few things that brought Sharon genuine joy at every opportunity. Everyone she encountered mentioned how lovely and sweet she was, and her smile would seriously light up a room.

Sharon is survived by her close and special companion, Tom Sawicki, Dad to Andy, Steve, Sandy, and Lizz; one son, Andrew (Suzanne) Peper of Detroit; two daughters, Sandy (Paul) Hamblen of Detroit and Lizz (Tim) Romanek of Westfield, WI; two brothers, Wayne Parkinson of Phoenix, AZ, and Richard Parkinson of Oshkosh; and one sister, Rosemary Cadena of Pampa, TX. Sharon is further survived by her beloved grandchildren, Chelsea Peper, Caleb (Kelsey) Peper, Katie (Ian) Thompson, Kelly (Trey) Allen, and Lucas Krumenauer, and great-grandchildren, Levi, Benny, Esmé, soon-to-arrive great-grandson, Atlas, Silas, Peter, and Jeremiah. Sharon is also survived by her best friend, Lynda Schaffer, dear nephew Kegan Parkinson, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and their children.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jim Parkinson, and one son, Steve Peper.

A Funeral Mass will be held on October 17, 2025, at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Peter's site, in Oshkosh, WI. Visitation will begin at noon, with Mass at 1 PM.

Sharon's family is grateful for the Ascension oncology, Heartland Hospice, and Senior Stride teams that provided her so much comfort.
