Sharon K. Snipes went home to be with Jesus on April 21, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon K. Donaldson was born in Wallace Idaho to the late Andrew Jackson Donaldson and Carrie Mae Larsen on January 29, 1943.
Sharon met and married a young man from Crescent, Iowa named William (Bill) E. Garrison. They moved to Oceanside, California and lived there because Bill was stationed at Camp Pendleton and worked as a military policeman. The same week Bill was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, Sharon was given the happy news that she was pregnant with their second child. Bill received a medical discharge from the Marines and they moved back to Council Bluffs. He passed away when William F. was almost 3 and Dennis was nearly 3 months old.
Sharon was married to her second husband, a young man named Vernon O. Snipes whom she was still married to at his death in January 2020.
Sharon was a genuinely caring and Christian woman who had many accomplishments in her life including owning A Plus Tax Pros in Council Bluffs, holding the title of President of the Pottawattamie County Genealogical Society, and being Den Mother to her sons' cub scout groups for several years. She also volunteered her time and resources for many fundraising events for her granddaughter's school including transporting the volleyball players to away games and tournaments, donating to churches and charities, and helping people in her community. She was known as Mom and Grandma to many of her sons' and grandchildrens' friends.
Over her lifetime she went on many trips with her family, often including family friends. Together they traveled all over the United States and into Canada. She always referred to her favorite time on vacation being spent fishing on a pontoon boat.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley, Jackie and Bill Donaldson.
Sharon is survived by her sons; William F. Garrison, Dennis Garrison (Diane); grandchildren, Felicia Caddell (Randy), William Garrison (Alissa), Steven Young, Dr. Pauline Seymour Sosi (Tyler); great grandchildren, Destiny (Theo), Nikki (Micheal), Sawyer, Harper, Brinley, Baby Billy, and Baby Denny; niece, Becky Spieker; and a host of other family and friends.
