Sharon Kay Sohl, 81, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 4:45 a.m., Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 with her husband and daughters by her side, at Hillsboro Community Hospital, Hillsboro, Kansas.
She was born in Haven, Kansas on October 17, 1940, a daughter of Helen (Nicklaus) and Joseph Riedl.
Sharon attended St. Johns Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Hoisington High School, Hoisington, Kansas in 1958.
Through the years Sharon worked as a Account Clerk for the Larned Correctional Facility, Larned State Hospital and Larned Courthouse. She also worked as a Owner and Operator of Economy Hearing Aide Center, McPherson, Kansas for the last 13 years.
Sharon was a member of Foursquare Church and the American Cancer Society.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, going south for the winter, cooking for her family and loved spending time with her friends and family.
Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandma and GGMa, who loved the Lord. Her greatest joy was knowing her family also loved the Lord!
Sharon Kay Riedl was united in marriage to Brett Sohl on March 4, 1983 in Larned, Kansas. The couple established their first home together in Larned.
She is survived by her husband Brett Sohl, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, David Huddleston and his wife Sue, of Elk City, Oklahoma, Kerri Barnard and her husband John, of Hays, Kansas and Kristi Campbell and her husband Rick, of Americus, Kansas; her brothers Martin Riedl and his wife Vicki and Bert Riedl and his wife Loretta
She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Tiffany VandeKopple(Jon), Jason Fenwick(Amanda), Tyson Couchman(Kathy), Nathan Campbell, Cody Campbell and Caitlin Njogu and 8 great grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 10:30 a.m. at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas, with Rob Schmutz officiating.
