Obituary published on Legacy.com by Simpson Funeral & Cremation Services - Monaca on Jan. 1, 2024.
Sharon Sue Soisson, 67 of Brighton Township, entered Heaven on Christmas Day, December 25, 2023, at Heritage Valley, Beaver surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Rochester Hospital in 1956, Sue was the cherished daughter of the late Garland R. Wells and Anna E. Wells. She shared 46 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Edward A. Soisson, and was a loving mother to her daughter, Heather L. Giammaria, and her husband, Robert. Sue was a proud grandmother to Jasper R. Giammaria, who held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her sister, Lorena (Doug) Campbell, and was predeceased by her brother, Garland 'Bud' Wells, and sister, Joann Day. Sue's memory will be cherished by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and her beloved dog, Otto.
Sue was a proud graduate of the Community College of Beaver County, where she earned a degree in nursing. Her caring nature led her to a fulfilling career of 44 years as a nurse's aide at Brighton Rehabilitation. Following her retirement, she continued to serve her community by joining the Freedom Area School District cafeteria staff.
As an active member of the Vankirk Lutheran Church in Monaca, Sue's devotion was evident through her many years in the choir and her role as a choir director. Sue's interests extended to the great outdoors; she found joy in fishing, hiking, and simply being one with nature. Her nurturing spirit was ever-present as she took care of her family and treasured the moments spent with friends.
Sue's unending love for her grandson, Jasper, was a testament to the kind of grandmother she was-always present, always loving, and always supportive. Her involvement in the community was unwavering; she was a longtime leader of the Center Township Girl Scout Troop #96 and participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Sue's passion for guiding and mentoring the youth was a reflection of her generous heart.
Above all, Sue was a beacon of love and kindness. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her life was a living example of service to others, and her legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 at 5 pm at Vankirk Lutheran Church in Monaca. A meal will be served immediately following, and all are invited to join, as one of Sue's favorite things in life was breaking bread and fellowship with her family and friends, as we wish to enjoy a meal together and celebrate her life. Pastors Susan Irons, Donald Mac Neil and Michael Sourwine will co officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral costs and any remaining will be added to Sue's savings account that was created for her grandson.
