Sharon Ann Suprun (previously Sullivan), age 72, of Chester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023. Sharon was born on December 6, 1950, in Richmond, Virginia, to Lewis "Eddie" Sullivan and Georgie Sullivan. She was a caring, kind, and focused individual, both in her family and work life.
Sharon had a fulfilling career in military civil service, dedicating 30 years of her life to serving her country. She was a proud graduate of Dinwiddie High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York at Albany. She further pursued her education at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she obtained a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.
Outside of her professional life, Sharon enjoyed spending quality time with her family and exploring the world through travel. She had the opportunity to visit various countries, including Canada, Germany, France, England, Ireland, Netherlands, and Switzerland.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Stephen C. Suprun Sr., and their children: Stephen C. Suprun Jr. (wife Dianne and children), Scott Suprun (wife Penny, children Allen Uphold with wife Tracey, and Erika Uphold), and Kirsten Price (husband Andrew, children Drew Price Jr, Kate Price, Owen Price, Olivia Price), as well as her brothers Tom Sullivan (wife Jean and children) and Robert Sullivan (wife Beth and children). She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A graveside service to honor Sharon's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road Petersburg, Virginia 23803 in Ward A.P. Hill. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Sharon's memory to the American Red Cross, Susan G. Komen Foundation, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
