Sharon Louise Spawn Taylor (Sherry), 78 of Casper, Wyoming passed away on March 28, 2024, in Casper, Wyoming. Sherry was born in Casper, Wyoming to Herman and Kathleen (Murphy) Spawn on February 5, 1946, the youngest of four children. She attended grade school in North Casper, junior high school in Casper, and received an Associate of Arts in Secretarial Science from Casper College. She was a nurse’s aide, worked for a bank and sold real estate prior to working for the government. In 1980, she went to work for the United States Geological Service, then Minerals Management Service, and finally Bureau of Land Management. Sherry retired from BLM in 2012.
Sewing was a longtime interest and she loved bowling. She was involved in the Wyoming State Historical Society – secretary for many years and is a past president. She was also a member of the Oregon California Trails Association, and Daughters of the American Revolution. She volunteered at local elementary schools, Federal Women's Program, and the National Historic Trails Center. Most of all Sherry loved spending her time with her family.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband, David Taylor of Casper, Wyoming. Brother, Milo (Chloe) Spawn of Kingman, Arizona. Daughter Dana (Robert) Curtis of Casper, Wyoming, Grandchildren Megan (Steven) Boomgarden and their children Caylee, Brayden, and Ethan of Casper, Wyoming; Brian Curtis of Gallatin Gateway, Montana; Erin (Ian) Moffett and soon a daughter of Del Rio, Texas. Daughter Jana (Francis) Kegler of Casper, Wyoming, Grandchildren Rebecca Kegler of Katy, Texas; Samantha (Derrick) English and their children Preston, Jaxton, Kelton of Chandler, Texas; Zackary (Holly) Kegler and their children Camille, Hudson, Everly, and Briggson of Casper, Wyoming; Benjamin (Tracey) Kegler and their children Karley and Lincoln of Casper, Wyoming; Brooklynne Kegler of Casper, Wyoming. Daughter, Pam (Kevin) McCarter and their children Jeremy (Felicia) Kuhlman and Hannah Kuhlman of Washington. She is survived by numerous cousins and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Father Herman Spawn, Mother Kathleen Spawn, Brother Stanley Spawn, Sister Beth Spawn, Granddaughter Miranda Kegler.
Funeral service will be held at Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home in Casper, Wyoming on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions.
