Sharon Vershaw, 57, of Long Grove, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 27th, 2025 at her home.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 30th, 2025 at Murphy's Pub, 613 10th Street, DeWitt, Iowa, which was Todd and Sharon's favorite date night spot. Western Attire is encouraged. Sharon's wishes were to be cremated, with her ashes spread between the Vershaw family farm, Puetro Aventuras, Mexico, Cave Creek, Ariz., and the trails of the cattle drives in Wyoming.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to New Kingdom Trialriders, where Sharon cherished her time as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor. She made a positive impact on the NKT riders and was so proud to be a part of this phenomenal organization.

Sharon was born October 25th, 1968 in Davenport, the daughter of Muriel and Dick Hamilton and Bill DeCap. She married Todd Vershaw on August 21st, 1993 in Moline. The couple had two daughters, Nicole and Anna, who Sharon dedicated her life to raising.

Survivors include her husband, Todd; daughters, Nicole and Anna Vershaw; siblings, Sheryl Glunz, Rick, Randy and Jeff Hamilton and step-father, Bill DeCap, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Dick Hamilton, Muriel DeCap and step-sister, Missy Strodtman.

Sharon loved her family more than anything in the world. She was so proud of the incredible daughters her and Todd raised and loved spending as much time together as possible. She never missed an event that the girls participated in and was always their biggest fan. Over the years, Sharon has stepped in to serve as a mother figure to countless others without hesitation; providing a home cooked meal, warm hug or an ear to listen. She never missed a beat.

Sharon loved getting to hike in Arizona with Todd and their dogs, Calli, Murphy and Scout. She lit up with joy at any opportunity to spend time with her great-niece, Quinn. Sharon's true passion in life was riding her horses; whether it was around the farm in Iowa, the mountains of Arizona, camping somewhere new with Marsha or a cattle drive in Wyoming – there wasn't a ride she would turn down.

Sharon was an incredible wife, mother and friend. She put others in front of herself and got pure joy seeing them happy. Words can not express how much she will be missed.
