Sharon Kay Weaver, 78, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at KC Hospice House in Kansas City, MO, surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Interment in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO. The family suggests donations to the Harrisonville Animal Shelter in honor of her lifelong love for her many precious dogs, and even a couple of cats.
Sharon was born February 9, 1947, in Harrisonville, MO, a daughter of Ralph Gerald, Jr. and Opal Marie (Goddard) Hawkins. She was a lifelong Cass County resident living in East Lynne, before moving to Harrisonville in 1963 when her parents purchased the Cortez Motel. Sharon was a 1965 graduate of Harrisonville High School.
Sharon was united in marriage to David Alan Weaver on July 9, 1966, at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville. They sailed through almost 35 years of life together. She was best known as a nurse's assistant and Emergency Room Tech at Cass Medical Center where she worked for more than two decades. She also helped her husband run the family business, Weavers Jewelry. Sharon was a perfectionist who spent countless hours caring for and further beautifying her immaculate home, lawn and flower gardens. Always a favorite aunt, Sharon showered her many nephews, niece and grands with much love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David, on January 11, 2001, and later by her parents. Sharon is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Mary Michele Hawkins, Harrisonville, MO; her sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Tim Ater, Nevada, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
