Sharon Williamson

Sharon Kay Williamson, 68, of Newport Tennessee, left her earthly vessel behind on January 6th 2026 to be present with the Lord after a period of declining health.

Sharon was a devoted wife, loving mama, proud nanny and great-nanny, adoring sister, warmhearted aunt, cousin, and friend. She loved her people sincerely, innocently, thoughtfully, purposefully, and unconditionally. If she ever loved you, she always loved you, and she made a point to make sure you knew it.

Sharon spent her entire professional life caring for others in roles such as waitressing and housekeeping, and after earning her degree in foodservice management, she found fulfillment in her work as a cook. She loved her job, and took great pride in feeding people quality food prepared with her heart.

Sharon was a survivor, a pillar of strength and courage, overcoming more heartache and challenges than most people could possibly imagine. She used her experiences to learn and grow, and she testified, sharing her life to lead others to the Lord. She was always willing to share a song, a story, her time, and space. Sharon always had a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on, an available hug, and she was always ready to pray with you and for you.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Reverend Albert "Sonny" Webb and Geneva Williamson Webb, her children Racheal and Timothy Russell, her brother Michael Webb, her maternal grandparents David and Algia Williamson, and paternal grandparents George and Callie Webb.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Kevin Williamson; her children Christa Shipman (Matthew), Erin Gunter, and Rebecca Painter (Jon); her grandchildren Rachel McCracken (Jacob), Hunter Brooks, Levi Meade, Tate Gunter, Bodie Gunter, Caleb Painter, Andrew Painter, Abigail Painter, and great-granddaughter Lainey McCracken; her siblings Steve Webb (Dorothy), Shirley Raines (Reverend Jerry), and Donna Shope (Danny); Siblings in love Darlene James (George), Stanley Williamson (Lynn), Karen "Kay" Williamson (Tim), Danny Williamson; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 10th, 2026 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where Sharon was a member, receiving family and friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with the service immediately following. Interment will take place at 3:00 at Hartsell Cemetery.
