Sharyn Juanita Voss, age 78, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025. She was born on April 30, 1947, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the first of two children to Ervin and Juanita (Bowling) Torgerson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Larry Torgerson and survived by her sister-in-law Joy Torgerson.
Sharyn is survived by her husband, three children, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren-each of whom was blessed by her generous love and steady presence throughout their lives.
Sharyn grew up surrounded by deep family bonds in Albert Lea, with cherished connections to her extended family in Kentucky. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and was then married, and welcomed three beautiful children into the world: Preston Stotts, Deniese Johnson (Stotts), and Ryan Stotts.
She later married Robert Allen Voss of Avoca, Minnesota, on April 4, 1981. Their marriage was a blessing to both of them and remained strong for 44 years. Sharyn devoted herself to her church community, serving as a lector and, with the support of Father Schmidt, helping to establish the IHN program (now Family Promise), which offers vital housing and employment assistance to families in need. She also poured her heart into her work at IBM, where she spent many dedicated years.
Sharyn found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved to read, play Scrabble, and crochet. She delighted in cooking and baking, often sharing her creations with those she loved. She was also the most avid football fan-never missing a game-and she cheered passionately for her beloved Minnesota Vikings. Her cat, Smokey, was a constant companion, bringing her comfort and laughter, especially in times of pain.
Sharyn's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served her congregation with devotion, humility, and warmth, and she drew daily strength from her Mornings with Jesus and Walking in Grace devotionals, which filled her heart with joy, gratitude, and hope.
Sharyn's life was a testament to love-love of God, love of family, and love expressed through selflessness and the appreciation of life's simple, beautiful moments. She will be remembered for her gentle kindness, her faith-filled heart, and the quiet strength that sustained her through every season of her life. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the family who adored her
