Shavar Antionne Brown 42, affectionately known as "Var" of Hopewell, NJ passed away on February 19, 2026. Shavar was born on May 8, 1983, in Bridgeton, NJ to Sorrita Brown and Albert Chance. Shavar attended Bridgeton Public School. He was formally employed at AGRO of Vineland, NJ as a forklift driver.

Shavar loved spending time with his family, cutting hair, remodeling cars, electrical work, installing car stereo, carpentry and having a good ole seafood fest. Shavar touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. His selflessness, warmth and generous spirit will be remembered forever! He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that

lives on in all of us.

Shavar is survived by his wife Shatoyia Brown, only daughter Sharita Wilkerson (Marcus) of California, four sons Shavar Jr, Tovar, Zamari, Jerome and mother and father-n-law Rosalind & David Logan.

Shavar also leaves to cherish in his memories his mother, Sorrita Brown (James) of Millville, NJ, Father Albert Chance of Bridgeton, NJ. Four brothers, Shaun (Shawyne) and his (twin) Sharae (Somone) of Millville, NJ, Shakeem and Kevin Scott of Bridgeton, NJ. two sisters Sandy Chance of Vineland, NJ and Dionne Chance of Hampton, Virginia. Also, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Shavar also leaves behind his three aunts Stephanie Williams (Audwin) of Vineland, NJ, Doris Chance and Betty Rich of Rochester, NY and four uncles Willie Brown (Kera) of Bridgeton, NJ, Walter Brown of Vineland, NJ, Wyatt Brown of Bridgeton, NJ, and Warren Brown of Fairton, NJ.

Shavar was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Willie & Ronnie Brown, paternal grandparents Albert Sr. and Thelma Chance, Aunt Barbara Brown, Dorothy and Thelma (Ginny) Chance, Cousin Joshua Chance and best friend Herbert (Herbie) Lee.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, March 3, at Crusaders for Christ Church, 33 Reeves Rd., Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the church from 9AM to 11AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. following the services.
