Shawn Cain Phiel, 39, passed away on September 14, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. Born on January 21, 1986, in Versailles, Kentucky, Shawn spent his life rooted in the Bluegrass State, where he built a legacy of warmth, kindness, and connection.

Shawn was a dedicated and beloved employee of Waffle House for many years. His presence brought comfort and familiarity to countless patrons and coworkers alike. Known for his friendly demeanor and strong work ethic, he became a cherished part of the community he served.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-especially fishing and camping. Whether casting a line into quiet waters or sitting around a campfire under the stars, Shawn felt most at peace outdoors. His love for nature reflected his easygoing spirit and appreciation for life's quieter moments.

Shawn was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his two sons, Zackery Phiel and Samuel Phiel, who he loved very much also leaves behind three brothers whose love for him was endless.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Phiel and Pamela Sue Ginter.

Those who knew Shawn remember him as someone who lit up every room he entered. He had an innate ability to make others feel seen and valued. His love for his friends and family was evident in every interaction, and he will be remembered for the genuine care he showed to all.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness in others. Fly high little brother
