Shawna Renea Walker, beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and care-giver was known by all for her beautiful smile, her kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Her legacy will continue to inspire others to make a positive difference in the world and the memories she leaves behind will forever be treasured by those whose lives she touched.

Born on May 15, 1978, Shawna was known for her diligent and proper nature. She approached every task with tenacity and optimism, always putting others before herself. Shawna's kindness and grace touched the lives of all she encountered. Her beautiful smile was recognized by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Shawna possessed a positive outlook even in the worst of times. Her unwavering love for God and dedication to prayer were pillars of strength in her life. She had an immense capacity for empathy and her faith sustained her through difficult moments and inspired those around her.

Shawna had a wide range of interests that brought her joy. As an LVN pediatric long-term care nurse for children under 18, she provided care in their home and had an immense love for her patients and their families. Outside of work, Shawna found solace in baking cheesecakes and took pride in maintaining an organized and labeled household. She enjoyed watching the sunset and dreaming about the future, trips to the beaches of Padre Island, ski trips to Colorado, and the family trip to Florida.

Shawna possessed an incredible ability to stay connected with others when emotions ran high. Her compassion extended beyond words as she actively practiced being there for those who needed support. She believed strongly in the law of attraction and understood the power of positive thinking. A lifelong learner, Shawna was eager to expand her knowledge through reading and personal growth; she approached life with a thirst for knowledge and embraced every opportunity to broaden her horizons.

Shawna's proudest accomplishments revolved around her family. She met her late husband, Adam, at Victory Church and cherished their relationship. She took great pride in creating a peaceful home paradise to provide a full and healthy life for her family; her devotion and love for her children were immeasurable.

Shawna's faith also played a significant role in her life. Her relationship with Christ was of paramount importance, providing guidance and strength throughout her journey. She exhibited grace in every aspect of her life, showing others the power of forgiveness and acceptance.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam Walker; father, William Porter Thurman; brother, John; and aunt, Marvelia Thurman.

Shawna leaves behind a loving family who will forever miss her presence: her children Joseph Michael Walker (24) and Daughter-in-Law Sierra Lynn Glass (20),  Jillian Kay Walker (12), and Jeremiah Roger Walker (10); grandsons Stryker Adam Walker and Westyn McGraw Walker; mother Linda Lou Holley; and siblings Tina Flanagan, Michelle Castorena, Barbara Wood, and Mathew Thurman.

Shawna’s family would like to acknowledge the love and support of family and friends that have provided love, care, and support through the years.
