Sheila Diane Boschma

Her Legacy Sheila Diane Boschma, 82, sadly passed away April 30, 2024. She was born on March 16, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan to F. Wayne Wageman and Roselynn (Vanek) Wageman. Sheila married the love of her life, Gerald Boschma, on June 16, 1962, in Lansing, Michigan. She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend. Sheila loved being a homemaker and spent time raising her three children in their younger stages of life. She also enjoyed sewing and making clothes and especially loved gardening and visiting various herb gardens with her gardening group in Saginaw. After her children were grown, Sheila spent many years volunteering with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) working with foster children in Arizona. In her early years, Sheila learned to enjoy camping with her father, mother and sister. Later in life, after Jerry retired, Jerry and Sheila shared that same sense of adventure as they spent a number of years traveling together to visit family and friends and see much of the United States and Canada in their RV. Sheila was a very persistent and feisty woman who successfully managed Parkinson's disease for over 18 years and she was an active participant in the Livingston County Parkinson's Support Group.
Her Family Sheila will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Jerry Boschma; her children, Gregory Boschma, Matthew Boschma, Cherie Boschma; her sister, Connie Foress; and grandchildren, Shelby Boschma and Sara Boschma. She is preceded in death by her parents, F. Wayne and Roselynn Wageman.
Her Farewell Sheila's Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 1PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Howell Memorial Chapel with a gathering beginning at 10AM until the time of service. She will be laid to rest at Howell Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Michigan Parkinson Foundation.
