Sheila C Gandy

Sheila Camilla Gandy(Quanita) was born August 5,1949 in New Haven, CT, to Martha Elizabeth and Ralph Ashe.
Quanita graduated from the New Haven school system. In 1965, Sheila moved to Elizabeth NJ where she met Fred Thomas, the father of 4 children and 12 bonus children. In 1970, Sheila moved to Plainfield NJ, where she met and married her late husband Eddie Gandy of 53 years.
Sheila worked as an assembly line worker at Runzler of Plainfield NJ until she became ill. After years of battling cancer, Sheila had victory. She was cancer free. She returned to work as a private duty home care aide in North Plainfield where Sheila retired at the age of 68.
In Sheila's younger years, she enjoyed playing bid wiz, reminiscing, hanging out with family, friends, and traveling to different cities playing BINGO. As age and illness took a toll, she enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren, but most of all Sheila really enjoyed watching her children and their siblings come together.
Sheila gave her life to The Lord in 2010. She was a member of Holy Ground Ministries of Plainfield.
She leaves to cherish her memory 11 daughters, 3 sons Arenia Moniece, Quanita, Dawnie,Camilla / Tony Bethel,Trisha,Kim, Karen/ Reggie, Rissa, Retta, Connie, Tee/Tammy Williams, William/Judth Thomas, Leandrew,and Thomas, one godson that is loved and adored Douglas Dawkins, 15 grandchildren 5 great-grandaughters, Dan'a, Ariana, Ava, Avery and Cassie, one great-grandson: Sincere, and a host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends
