Sheila Glod Obituary

Sheila Ryan Glod, 80, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the Wynn Hospital, to join her beloved husband James in Heaven.

Born on April 6, 1943, in Utica, Sheila is the daughter of Harold and Agnes (Gondek) Ryan. She was a graduate of UCA.

On August 1, 1975, Sheila married James M. Glod in Our Lady of the Rosary Church. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage prior to his death just 23 days ago on February 24, 2024.

Sheila was a secretary for Drs. Kantor and Markovich for over 25 years before retiring. Sheila went every morning to the local McDonald's to the "Breakfast Club" to enjoy breakfast and conversation with close friends. She also made sure to visit Boscov's daily to make sure she was not missing a good sale. Shelia was known for her kind and caring nature.

Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Bach, New Hartford; sister, Kathleen Gates and her significant other, Ken Bode, California; grandson, Keegan Bach who was the apple of her eye, niece, Cynthia Gates, and cousin, Stephen Gondek and his wife, Barbara and their children Terri and Gina. She is also survived by several very close friends.

Sheila was predeceased by her son-in-law, Joseph Bach.

Graveside services for Sheila and Jim will be private, in the spring, at St. Stanislaus & Casimir Cemetery, Whitesboro.

Arrangements are under the direction of McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica.

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR CONVERSATIONS WE HAD TOGETHER, COMPARING NOTES , AND HAVING A LOT OF LAUGHS , AS WE WERE BOTH IN THE SAME OFFICES, HER WITH DR. KANTER AND MYSELF WITH DR.COOPER.
SHEILA HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR.
I AM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.

My deepest condolences for the loss of your mom and dad.
Your mom and dad were such wonderful people who always took the time to say hello and have a conversation with me when they came into the store.
