Sheila Larner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGeehan Funeral Homes St. Charles Chapel on Apr. 28, 2025.
Sheila Darlene Larner, of St. Charles, formerly of California, died on April 27, 2025, at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw, after a brave battle with cancer, at the age of 62.
Sheila was born on September 7, 1962, in Fresno, California to Norman Kanawyer and Jean Cummins. She graduated from Reedly High School, attended College of Sequoias, and earned her nursing degree from Reedly College. She made her career as an LPN at Covenant Hospital for many years. Her career in nursing blessed her with many opportunities, including being able to nurse in Africa for a short period of time. She met her husband, William Larner, while he was stationed in California. On their first date, they were engaged, and a month and a half later, were married on April 11, 1987. At the age of 28, they moved to St. Charles, to grow their family.
Sheila was a dedicated servant of the Lord, always reminding those around her that Jesus loved them. She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church in Saint Charles for 34 years, and instilled the love of church into her children. Sheila was a giver, who seldom asked for anything in return. She showed her love for Jesus through the love she gave to others, no matter who they were. She loved making people smile as much as she could, spending time in her garden planting flowers and harvesting her strawberries and grape vines.
Sheila is survived by her husband of 38 years, William Larner; children, Joshua Larner, Jacob Larner, and Valarie Larner; grandchildren, Payton Larner, Xavier Larner, and Skylar Larner; siblings, Susan Walker, Joseph (Rose Anne) Corbin, James (Elizabeth) Corbin, Allegra (Kevin) Quinn, and Amy (Brandon) Russell; mother, Jean Cummins; step-mother, Linda Corbin; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Kanawyer; siblings, Shara Corbin and Diana Corbin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 4:00pm with visitation from 11:00am until the time of funeral service at McGeehan Funeral Home - St. Charles Chapel, 209 Entrepreneur Drive, St. Charles, MI 48655.
