St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Sheila H. Lovas, 63, who passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in St. Martinville.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Wednesday from 9:30 am until 8:00 pm.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday evening by Cynthia Elmer.
Father Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Service. Readers will be Guy Broussard, Elizabeth Barras and Logan Verrett.
Sheila found great joy in her role working at Kajun King. Sheila enjoyed peaceful moments crocheting and watching the hummingbirds that frequented her front porch. Her heart found its greatest fulfillment in the love she shared with her granddaughter, Kamren Breaux.
Sheila will be remembered for her friendly, loving and caring spirit. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Katie Menard (Marcus); grandchild, Kamren Breaux; sisters, Anne Pellerin (Darryl) and Lorna Heintz (David); brothers, Thomas Lovas, Jr. (Barbara), Brian Lovas and Pastor John Lovas (Barbara); god-daughter, Elizabeth Olivier Barras (Steven); and her dear friend, Guy Broussard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Lovas, Sr. and Lorraine Chataignier Lovas; maternal grandparents, Charles and Marie Therese Bienvenu Chataignier; and paternal grandparents, Thomas and Lelia Beslin Lovas.
