Sheila Gayle Sullivan

Sheila Gayle Sullivan, age 75, passed away on Thursday, Feb 26, 2026. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2026, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home.

She made this world a better place on May 22nd, 1950 when Clyde Henry Messick and Gwendolyn Jean Messick received her into this world in El Reno, Oklahoma. She spent her young school years in the tight knit Springdale community and graduated at Dickson High School, Class of 1968 with her high school sweetheart and future husband Ettie Wayne Sullivan. She went on to Southeastern Oklahoma State University ending with a degree in Education. Ettie and Sheila married on May 29th, 1971, in Ardmore, Ok. They started their young family in 1974 with the birth of their first son Steven, eventually followed by Mark and Ryan. Ettie's work and Sheila's family ties found them moving several times from the south to the east part of the country before coming back to Ardmore in the early 90's. Sheila had a passion for teaching and followed that for three decades until retiring from Dickson High School. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and life long friends. She was a full time teacher, wife, Grandmother, mother and a loyal sister and daughter. She lived a life of service to her family, spanning from her Father, mother and siblings to her sons and her grandchildren. Sheila was a rock that served as a foundation for any close to her and will be surely missed.

She has joined her high school sweetheart, parents and siblings, Randy, Sherry and Steve in her new heavenly home.

Waiting to join her someday are her sons, Steven, Mark and Ryan. Daughters, Gloria and Sarah. Her grandchildren, Brandon, Dillon, Colton, Bailey, Finley, Abigail, Daniel, Ettie, Frankie and Henrie along with great grandchildren Atlas and Waylon.
